Our new report outlines a methodology to evaluate where safeguarding natural capital could have the biggest impact on climate, economies, and health. Understanding the business case for nature conservation can be difficult, but detailed analysis of nature’s “co-benefits” can inform decisions about expanding conservation and could potentially:
-Reduce atmospheric CO2 by up to 2.6 gigatons annually
-Create up to 650,000 jobs directly in nature conservation
-Help reduce the risk of zoonotic diseases such as COVID-19
