Special Representative Hook’s Meeting with the International Maritime Organization

Special Representative for Iran and Senior Advisor to the Secretary Brian Hook met today in London, UK with Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization Kitack Lim. Special Representative Hook shared with Secretary General Lim newly unclassified intelligence regarding recent Iranian attacks in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz. Special Representative Hook and Secretary General Lim also discussed the importance of safeguarding freedom of navigation and promoting maritime security. Special Representative Hook reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to working through the International Maritime Organization and other agencies and organizations to hold Iran accountable for its recent actions.
