Global impact investing: A conversation with Dina Habib Powell

On Thursday at AEI, Dina Habib Powell joined AEI President Arthur Brooks for the fourth major event for AEI’s Philanthropic Freedom Project. They discussed Goldman Sachs’ Impact Investing business, the role of women in fostering solutions to major global problems, and Goldman Sachs’ efforts measuring the success of their impact investments.

 
Ms. Powell and Dr. Brooks’ conversation focused on Goldman Sachs’ efforts through their 10,000 Women and 10,000 Small Businesses programs, which provide access to capital and the business training needed for female entrepreneurs and small business owners to grow their enterprises. The conversation ended with a discussion about the importance of public-private partnerships in taking successful programs started by the private and nonprofit sectors to scale by partnering with governments around the world. –Spencer Moore
