After Brexit, tale of a currency crisis foretold

At this very challenging time for the United Kingdom’s economy, the country is at least fortunate in that it has a floating exchange rate, since a floating currency can provide the country with a useful economic safety valve that it would not enjoy if its currency were fixed. By allowing the currency to float downwards, much-needed support might be provided to the economy through a more competitive export sector.
