My absolute favorite book of all time and one day, shall be read to me on my deathbed as I take my final breaths, is The Thief of Always by Clive Barker.
I have very fond memories as a young child, snuggled up next to my father as he masterfully read this wondrous story to me. And as an adult, I’ve enjoyed it countless times. It’s so deliciously haunting and beautifully crafted.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve felt drained for no reason other than the fact that it’s February. I snickered to myself, thinking about this as it reminded me of the very first paragraph in The Thief of Always, which is this week’s quote.
I don’t know about you, but I feel the great grey beast February is trying desperately to swallow me whole. But I also know this too shall pass and life will continue on in all its fascinating twists and turns. In the meantime, let us enjoy one another while we have the time.
