We used CB Insights data gathered via our machine learning technology (dubbed The Cruncher) and from thousands of submissions we received from VC partners and firms via The Editor.

A venture capitalist is an investor who provides financing to private companies that are experiencing, or have the potential for, high growth. In addition to funding, venture capitalists also serve as advisors to their portfolio companies and, if their stake in the company is large enough, can sit on its board of directors.
