USS Donald Cook Visits Larnaca

The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) arrived in Larnaca, Cyprus, April 5, 2018, for a scheduled port visit to enhance U.S.-Cyprus relations as the two nations work together to strengthen regional security and stability.

The ship’s presence in the Mediterranean is a demonstration of our continued commitment to regional security.

“It has been greater than two years since USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) had a port visit in Larnaca, Cyprus.  With 2/3rds of the crew turned over, we look forward to learning about Cyprus’ culture, rich history, and tasting the amazing food.  We are excited to spend the next of couple days in such a great port,” said Cmdr. Kelley Jones, executive officer of Donald Cook.

Strengthening partnerships during the port visit to Larnaca builds enduring relationships and emphasizes our shared commitment to promoting security and stability within the region, while seeking opportunities to enhance our interoperability as UN members.
