I’m in a league of my own.
I don’t have competition because I’m in a league of my own.
I know that reads a bit pompous.
But, please, allow me to explain.
We’re sold this narrative that in order to be happy we have to “win” some proverbial competition.
While this makes sense for sports, where a point system allows there to be an undisputed winner at the end of the game, it’s a difficult thing to apply to all other facets of our lives.
Yet, we do.
We’re in competition with our neighbors.
We’re in competition with our friends.
We’re competition with our colleagues.
We’re in competition with new hires.
